Ideation | Form Inspiration
* Collection of images already exists in the brief material when I joined the project. I suppose it´s done by automotive design intern Gustav from Strate School of Design who worked on the project before he left. Because it aligns with the project very well, I didn’t change it but used it for designing the interior
Ideation | Notes & Doodles
* As a student I used to want to keep these working doodles only for myself because I thought they are “not pretty enough to be shown”. Years of working as a professional in studios made me realise and cherish the value of these quick notes and doodles during the fast-paced and often chaotic phases of projects. The road to good design is never straight and level; letting go of perfectionism frees the hand and the mind
Ideation | Keysketches Pre-Modelling
Development | Blender Modelling Process
Evolved from 2D sketch shown above into 3D model on package, the design was adjusted accordingly along the process.
maintaining the overall feeling of the 2D in the 3D was the goal, and simplicity was the key
* Used free 3D models: Dog, wheelchair, luggage bags various type, bottle, to-go cup
Development | Functional Parts
users´ needs was the centre of attention, and form followed functions
Change of Circumstances
Besides the modelling of functional details, shading, rendering and animation, I did and handed over the majority of the work shown above at Afry Experience Studio between February and May 2024.
In May I was affected by the redundancy at Afry and left the studio at the end of the month, taking with me the consent from the studio manager to continue working and to include it as personal project into my portfolio.
The body of work shown below is completed by me at home from July to September 2024. I didn´t have the studio-standard hardware & software to work with, and I´m not a professional surface modeller, CMF designer or visualisation artist, nor did I want to step on the toes of any fellow designers or colleagues.
Confronted with limited resources both at Afry and at home, my only goal was to do what I could with what I had to hand, to meet the initial project requirements and to ensure the perceived quality in the final result that I believe the project and design in itself deserves.
